Yesterday, my girl friend really wanted to go to Sephora because she did some research on a few products that had great reviews and supposedly will do wonders with her skin. While she was busy talking to one of the workers, I decided to play around with the Urban Decay Glide-On 24/7 Pencils. I keep hearing amazing things about them so I wanted to see what all the hype was about for myself. I decided to swatch ALL of their pencils at the display. LOL. I am sure they thought I was crazy but I just wanted to test the products out. ;)
Are they really the best pencils on the planet?!
24/7 Eye Pencils ($18 each) from L to R: Zero, Oil Slick, Yeyo, Gunmetal, Burbon, Whiskey, Underground, 1999, Lucky, Mildew, El Dorado, Electric, (Can't remember), Stash, Graffiti, Flipside, Binge, Deviant, Crash, Lust, Ransom, and Rockstar.
Aren't they pretty? I liked the colored ones. As for the browns and black they seemed mediocre to me.
24/7 Shadow Pencils ($20 each) from L to R: Sin, Lit, Midnight Cowboy, Narc, Clinic, Clash, Morphine, Delinquent, Rehab, Mercury, Wasteland, Barracuda
I loved the names especially Delinquent. And the colors were all amazing. I would purchase all of these if I could.
By the time I was finally done swatching, my girl friend also finished up. When I saw her, she had three samples in her hand. It never dawned on me that you could ask for samples of the products! Isn't that genius? I am pretty sure MAC does not do this so it gave Sephora brownie points in my book. That way you do not have to commit to just one full-size bottle of a certain item and can actually see which would work best on your skin first.
The three items she got are (L to R) Benefit Cosmetics' The POREfessional, Makeup Forever HD Foundation, and Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer #6.
So the beauty tip for today: ALWAYS ASK FOR SAMPLES (at Sephora or any other beauty store that offers this service)
Have you tried the UD 24/7 pencils? Which do you have?
Did you ever ask for samples at Sephora? Would you? Or do you prefer just buying the actual product and returning it if you didn't like it?

I have $50.00 to spend at Sephora and I can't decide what to spend it on, but snazzy colored liners are pretty high up on my list.
Delinquent is my fave one there, there's just something about a beautiful purple that is absolutely irresistible.

Those pencils look good I don't have any. We don't have Sephora over here otherwise i had as any samples.

I loooove Urban Decay! I finally caved in and got the Morphine eyeshadow pencil, and it is sooo pretty <3
You should definitely grab a couple of the 24/7 pencils. They are pretty much the ONLY eye pencils I use. I love them.
I sooo wish I lived near a Sephora, then again it may be best for my wallet that I dont. lol, its awesome that they do product samples!
MAC does give samples if you ask. I ask for samples on occasion. I like the pencils; I almost bought the set for Christmas but decided not to. Great swatches.
I've known about the sample service but I've always been too shy to ask. I'm pretty sure they'll give you samples at MAC too - at least i've seen people get samples of eyeglitters and shadows and such.
You're so cute, you can definitely get foundation samples from anyone - I've gotten tons of samples from the mall cosmetic counters. :) I personally don't like UD 24/7 pencils. I got a free Zero pencil and it performed so poorly I ended up giving it to my BFF who didn't have a kohl liner. I would never spend so much money on a pencil that doesn't jump over the moon for me :)
I wish we had Sephora here on Maui ;[ I only own one 24/7 eye pencil and it's in zero. The one thing I loved about it was that it was hard to smudge when I tried rubbing it with my fingers...on my arm at least. Different story around the eyes.

LOL! Yeah, the pencils are so pretty! If i wasn't on P10P, I probably would've up picked up delinquent. You should ask for samples before you buy anything w/ your $50. Haha. But I heard their return policy is good too if you do get something you don't like.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't like the zero pencil either. I was a bit disappointed with it. =\ I'll just stick to my Wet N Wild black pencil liner for now. Did you try any of the other 24/7 pencils?
Aww lol. =( Just fly to Hawaii. ;) Haha jk. I noticed that too! When I tried to wipe off the liner the blacks were hard to come off. It made my arm red.
I have to fly out of town to go to Sephora, no kidding. I hate those 24/7 pencils, I gave every single one of mine away. They were ok for the upper lashline for a while, but never stayed on the lower or waterline.

I would ask for a sample if I could but here they rarely give out samples so you are forced to buy the whole product.
I loove the pigmentation and quality of UD 24/7 liners! I use Zero on a daily basis and I have a few other shades as well.. highly recommended :) Thanks for the tip on samples, I never thought to do that at Sephora!
i love Urban Decay's 24/7 glide on!!! my eyelid area can get really oily and my eyes are extra oily and they work the best for me! :D Zero is my ABSOLUTE favorite but i also have 1999 and Bourbon. They are also really nice. :D

I never ask for samples, I'm just embarrassed and shy, lol! I have having salespeople ask me if I need help but I know that's dumb! I just need to grow a pair. LMAO!

Unfortunately we do not have Urban Decay in Australia...I have a few of the eye pencils that I picked up off eBay but would love some of those colours you swatched:)

i have 2 UD pencils in zero LOL! x) i usually don't go for colored eyeliners and just stick to safe ones.
I know some MAC stores do give samples. I've gotten a sample of the select cover consealor from there before. I asked Sephora for a sample of the MUFE Face & Body foundation but they didn't have any :(
I've got samples at MAC before. Just foundation, but I did get some when I asked. They were totally nice about it. As for Sephora, I love asking for samples there too! I don't mind doing it. A good way to test things out.

MAC gives samples you just gotta ask though. I got a sample of their moisturizer and foundations and they give samples of their pigments too but I haven't asked for those yet lol
I love UD 24/7 liners :) I have it in Zero, whiskey and flipside. Honestly, no eyeliner will stay on my waterline for long, even waterproof ones don't last that long but i've gotten used to that...what i do like is that if you apply the eyeliner on the lower lash line it doesnt smudge or fade after hours of wear compared to other eyeliners.
It better be cause i'm gonna get it and my waterline better like it!
I have Zero,Deviant and Rockstar and i'm eying Ransom,Eldorado and Stash..The best thing about UD eye pencils are they stay until you take them off.Plus they are very pigmented and creamy.
