Too Faced Smoky Eye Palette

The other day I posted about the Too Faced Naked Eye Palette.  Well today is another Too Faced palette, Smoky Eye.  This palette also belongs to one of my girl friends who was kind enough to let me borrow it for my blog.

*Please note that this palette was bought a while back so it is a bit different from the current palettes in store today.  (i.e. smaller size, no brush(s), different eyeshadow shades)*

For some reason this palette came with two brushes.

Swatches were done by rows starting from the top to bottom, without and with flash.

Honestly I did not care for the first row just because of their neutral shades.  I did like the middle row though.  The green and blue looks beautiful!  I loved how pigmented all the shades were.

The different looks you could create.  Also note that you do not have to follow these cards.  Experiment and play around with the shades.

Overall, anything smoky eye is a must in my book.  If you do not have a big makeup collection or is just starting out than I would recommend this palette.

Which Too Faced Palette is your favorite?

Thanks for reading,

  2. My favorite one is the Too Faced Neutral Eye. :3 I'm a huge neutral fan, but a pretty smokey is a timeless classic. Thanks for sharing the swatches! The green is pretty.~

  3. I agree, the blue and green look stunning and they would make for a great, non-standard take on a smoky eye. I keep wanting to try one of their palettes.

  4. Thanks for the thorough and honest review. The tough thing with palettes is that there is always a row of colors that are chalky or not as pigmented. I like the blue shades but the other ones are a tad sheer for me.

  5. I don't own any of the Too Faced Palettes (except a knock off one) but I have purchased their single shadows. The blue & green look great, though!

I think I like this old version better... the new one doesn't have that pretty green color! the only shades I like on the new one are smolder & cloves... I wonder why they changed it??? anyhoo, hope you can do a look using this palette =)
