When my daughter was first born, she had a full head of hair. Since then, I did not cut her hair. My mother was pretty adamant about not cutting her hair until after she turned one year old. It is apparently a Filipino superstition.
Gosh, I still remember how tiny she use to be. *tear*
Now that she is almost 15 months old. Her hair has grown out a lot to the point where her bangs will cover her eyes. I try to put her hair up but usually she will just pull out her hairband. I could not stand it anymore and decided to cut her hair myself. I was hoping she would keep still, but nope. She wanted to move around like she always does. So I had to cut her bangs quickly. I wanted to do her entire head but I knew that would not work out well.
Before picture.
She looks angry here. Haha.
After picture. I love the difference. I did not want to cut the bangs too short. Just to a point where it will not cover her eyes much.
How do you like her new bangs?
Thanks for reading,

I've never heard of that superstition. Very interesting. And yes, Alyssa has grown so much. I remember holding her in SD on Thanksgiving. I think she was about a month old at the time.
Cute baby!! :)
wow, you can cut hair! i used to remember my mom cutting my own bangs but she would always either cut it too short or give me crazy uneven bangs. =)

Filipino superstitions...gotta love em LOL. My grandparents & parents are the same. They won't even let me chop my own hair while I'm pregnant because they say that baby will be born without hair. I did cut my hair twice though during this pregnancy haha.
Your daughter is so cute though! You did a good job getting her bangs out of her face.
