I have always been in search for the perfect headband so when Gaiam offered to have me review their Sure Grip Headband, I jumped at the opportunity.
The Gaiam Sure Grip Headband ($9.98) is 2-inches wide designed to keep hair out of your face and helps keep you feeling cool. The headband is also a moisture-wicking headband and comes in two colors (cocoa/maldive and black/charcoal).
These headbands are made of 94% Cotton and 6% Spandex. As you can see in the picture below, there is a thin silicone strip on the inside to ensure the headband stays in place.
I have very thick hair and tried several headbands in the past while working out but nothing seemed to work well with me. I was just convinced they didn’t like me or that I had a weird head shape.
Even though I was a bit skeptical about the Sure Grip Headband, I was eager to see if it would work for me. For a week, I tried this headband at my different exercise classes (PiYo, Cycling, and Zumba).
My first day trying it on though, it definitely felt weird on my head. I wasn’t use to it at all. I kept “fixing” it every 5 minutes because I was convinced it was falling off. But I know now that was just all in my head.
Once I got over that feeling and felt comfortable wearing it, I noticed that the headband really stayed in place. There were just a few times I readjusted to put it back in the right place from moving so much in my cardio classes but it wasn’t a big deal.
As for keeping me feeling cool, I didn’t really notice that. But it did catch my sweat so it wouldn’t get in my eyes.
The Gaiam Sure Grip Headband is the first headband that really worked very well with my hair/head. I love wearing it especially at my high-intensity classes so I don’t have any hair flying in my face. It was made exercising easier and hassle-free with my hair!
