Next in my series of Nick Chavez Beverly Hills products reviews is the Flocker and SoftFlocker. When I first saw the word “Flocker,” I wasn’t sure exactly what that product is and would do for my hair. Curiosity got the best of me and quickly wanted to see how well this would work on my thick, wavy hair.
Flocker and SoftFlocker
Flocker (8 oz. / $22.00) 2013) is a fast-drying, texturizing and universal styling spray that’s easy to control. Adds lift, dimension, volume and styling support to wet or dry hair. It also adds control while locking in curl and texture.
SoftFlocker (4 oz. / $26.00) is a versatile, universal styling cream that provides all day styling control and amazing volume with memory. Makes hair feel thicker and texturizes layered haircuts.
I enjoyed both Flocker products. I have my likes and dislikes about each of them though. Even though it is a “spray”, you spray it into your hand until it foams a bit, rub your hands together, then rub it into your hair. Very quick and easy.
With the cream, I really disliked having to massage it in my hair. Using the SoftFlocker on dry hair became a sticky mess for me. I did notice my hair with more texture, but when I would run my hand through my hair, it would get stuck and tangled. It also made my hair feel heavy and I could still feel the product in my hair unlike other Nick Chavez hair products that feels like its not even there. Also the scent is very strong it gave me a headache. However, after about 15 minutes the scent calmed down and I could rarely feel the product in my hair as I ran my fingers through it.
After that mess, I tried the SoftFlocker on wet hair and it was so much better! The cream blended in so much easier and the scent was less noticeable for some reason. I air dried my hair then put it up in a bun. When I had put my hair down, it created beautiful loose curls! This is definitely something I will be doing a lot of since I rarely have time to do my hair and is always running around after my children.
